It’s Official, Johnson to Return to Manage in 2012

The Nationals announced earlier today that Davey Johnson would indeed return to manage the team in 2012, as the organization exercised his contract option as expected. We’ve been hearing for weeks since the season ended that the job was “Johnson’s if he wanted it” so this ultimately has become one of the worst kept secrets in all of Washington.

With the team’s managerial situation (which we’ve discussed to death here) finally situated, and the first item on Mike Rizzo’s offseason to do list crossed off, the organization can now focus on the rest of this winter’s agenda.
