Yeremy Cabrera is quite the exciting prospect. The Nationals acquired him as one of the five prospects in the MacKenzie Gore trade to the Texas Rangers. Currently, Cabrera is ranked the 20th-best prospect in the Nationals' farm system by MLB Pipeline, and this past week, he had a breakout week and received Minor League Baseball Team of the Week honors.

While the 5-foot, 11-inch Cabrera, an outfielder, does not have a ton of power to his bat quite yet, and the Nats' farm system is loaded with outfielders in their top 30, Cabrera also has speed (stole 43 bases in single-A in 2025), and gets on base quite often. He is on an upward trajectory, and will make for an exciting team if Cabrera and James Wood ever get to play together in the outfield up in Washington.

His MiLB profile describes him: "Cabrera has surprising raw power for his size, and he can get to it in games with a lift-and-pull-heavy approach from the left side."

He slashed .500/.640/1.056 with two home runs, a triple, two doubles, four RBI, seven runs, seven walks, and stole six bases. Cabrera was absolutely on fire, and although a long time away from the big club, with an ETA for a call-up in 2028, according to MLB Pipeline, his arrival in The Show cannot come soon enough for a struggling Nationals organization that needs new and exciting players.

Cabrera is still a long ways away, but the 20-year-old talent is showing signifcant progress in his numbers. For example, his career high in the minors for home runs in a season was nine in 2024, split between rookie ball and single-A. He already has three. He is on an incredible pace to hopefully break his career high. While still in single-A Fredericksburg, if he keeps up his numbers, he will start to move up the ranks, starting with going to high-A Wilmington.

There is still a lot in store for Cabrera, and I can't wait to see him in The Show for the Nats, because anticipation will build for him, and he will hopefully be a great player at the major league level. I really hope the Nats get to see Yeremy Cabrera through until his debut and for seasons to follow. He has a lot to offer, and I truly hope he can make the impact the Nationals need to start winning games and increase attendance.
