This morning the Nationals placed OF Jacob Young on the 10-Day IL with a left shoulder AC Sprain. With the outfield spread thin, this prompted a somewhat surprising, but necessary move with the promotion of Daylen Lile from Triple-A Rochester. The only other outfielders currently on the roster include Amed Rosario, yet he seldom plays in the outfield, and Alex Call who covered right field last night.

Daylen Lile currently bats a combined .331 throughout his time this season between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester. This also includes an OPS of .892 with 12 walks, 17 extra base hits, and 9 stolen bases. He is a dynamic threat, and getting promoted during a 5 game win streak may add to even more of a surge of momentum. The Nationals contingent has a lot to be excited about with Lile up in the big leagues ahead of schedule. Should he thrive in the next couple weeks, it may not be a surprise if he stays up.

In addition to Lile, Robert Hassell III made his debut yesterday while also gaining promotion this week. His debut came with no regrets as he batted 2-5 with two singles and a stolen base. Dave Martinez is finding something recently with this young squad.

Be sure to read our write-ups for further information on these young prospects. They provide much light onto a bright future of the organization.
