Following the latest prospect rankings update from MLB Pipeline, the Washington Nationals received some high praise from the new rankings. While some top prospects from the preseason rankings like Roki Sasaki from the Los Angeles Dodgers and Dylan Crews have now graduated from the list, their removal has lead to the entries of some new prospects, or in some cases, making way for names to return to the list.

Making his way back into the Top 100 Prospects list is none other than Brady House, the top hitting prospect in the organization. While House was firmly entrenched as a Top 100 guy for awhile, he fell out of the list entirely following a subpar 2024 campaign that saw him post just a .699 OPS over 129 games. Evaluators wanted House to stay healthy following an injury-riddled season in 2023, and he proved that he could stay healthy in 2024, despite his below-average numbers.

However, in 2025, House is both healthy and hitting, and that has caused his stock to be on the rise again, as he is now the #95 ranked prospect in the sport. He enters action on Tuesday with a .283/.346/.464 slash line with an .810 OPS to go along with 5 homers and 18 RBIs. His K rate is still a little bit high at 31.16%, but his 9.15% walk rate is very solid, as he has already walked 14 times this year after doing so just 31 times all season in 2024.

House is knocking at the door of the show, and will likely come up this summer should his numbers continue to look this way, but his development should not be rushed. We have seen what happens when the organization rushes a prospect who likely needed a bit more seasoning like Dylan Crews, versus what happens when waiting for a prospect to kick the door down, like James Wood.

The other risers in the Top 100 list for the Nationals included their top 2 pitching prospects, in righties Jarlin Susana and Travis Sykora. They currently rank as the best prospects in the organization, and both appear to have very bright futures ahead of them. However, at this time, both prospects are headed in opposite directions on the health front.

Susana, who jumped from the 77th-best prospect in baseball to #66 overall, is currently dealing with a Grade 1 UCL Sprain, and is going to be shut down for 2 weeks. The lingering fear among many around the organization is that he might inevitably have to get Tommy John Surgery, but of course, the team is doing anything they can to prevent that.

Sykora, who jumped from #68 overall to #62 overall, is working his way back from offseason hip labrum surgery, but appears to have a clean bill of health going forward. He was on a rehab assignment with the FCL Nationals, but appears as if he will be reinstated with the High-A Wilmington Blue Rocks today, where he will be debuting at a new level after dominating Low-A last season.
